Perkins Teachers Kick-Off The 2024-2025 School Year
Perkins Local Schools opened for teachers and staff today by honoring those celebrating their 15-, 20-, 25-, and 30-year anniversaries in education.
Among the district’s longest-serving veterans, five celebrate their 30th anniversaries: Meadowlawn teachers Dawn Zappa and Sandra Taylor, Meadowlawn custodian Matt Mapus, Furry teachers Kelley Sumner, and Perkins High School teacher Craig Wessels.
Celebrating 25 years are Furry Elementary teacher Stacey Witter, Meadowlawn teachers Carla Weilnau, Krista Hartung, and Jacquelyn Miller Williamson, Athletics Department secretary Dawn Sullivan, Briar teacher Kristen Winkel, and Briar Assistant Principal Erick Weisenberger.
Celebrating 20 years are Perkins High School Assistant Principal Drew Davie, Perkins High School Guidance Secretary Carla Schweinfurth, Briar Middle School Secretary Jennifer Martin, Briar paraprofessional Paege Murphy, and Furry Elementary teacher Megen Kania.
And, celebrating 15 years are Furry Elementary School teachers Pamela Shirtz, Brittany Stacey, and Gena Staley, Furry custodian Doug Ohlemacher, Briar Middle School secretary Bonnie Fantozzi, and Perkins High School teacher Brian Cassidy.
Perkins Schools teachers, staff, and administrators also were welcomed to the 2024-2025 school year by new Superintendent Dr. Lonny Rivera.
