Perkins Local School District Receives 3.5-Star Rating

Perkins Local School District has been awarded 3.5 stars out of 5 stars on the Ohio Department of Education’s 2025 Report Card and recognized that the district “Meets State Standards.”

The Ohio Department of Education released the 2025 School Report Cards on Monday, September 15, 2025. The report cards provide the community with a sense of the quality of their schools. 

While the state bases much of the report card grades on state testing data, the state also pulls in broader components, such as graduation, attendance, and early literacy rates.

For the third straight year, Perkins Schools received a perfect 5-star rating for Perkins High School’s 96.5 percent graduation rate. 

The district also received a 4-star rating for Progress, the measure of growth students are making based on their past performance, and 3-star ratings for Achievement, the measure of how well students performed on state tests, and Gap Closing, the measure of the reduction in educational gaps for student groups.

Meanwhile, not only did Perkins High School receive a 5-star rating for Graduation, but PHS also earned 4-star ratings for Achievement and Progress, and a 3-star rating for Gap Closing. Overall, PHS earned a 4-star rating.

Briar Middle School received a 3-star rating on its report card, with 3-star ratings for Achievement and Progress.

Meadowlawn Intermediate School received a 3.5-star rating on its report card. Meadowlawn’s received a 4-star rating for Progress and a 3-star rating Achievement and Gap Closing.

And, Furry Elementary received a 2.5-star rating. Furry received a 4-star rating for Gap Closing.
