Little Treasures Receives 5-Star Rating

Little Treasures, Perkins Local School District’s preschool program, has been awarded a 5-Star Step Up To Quality rating from the state of Ohio. 

“The rating says a lot about our program,” said Little Treasures Director Hillary Turner, Ph.D. “It shows we’re going above and beyond for our kids.”

The Ohio Department of Education & Workforce and the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services administer the rating and improvement system. The agencies evaluate preschools programs across the state on multiple criteria, Dr. Turner said.

Among the standards, the district maintains professional development for the preschool staff, uses student assessments to guide learning for each child, demonstrates and maintains partnerships with families and community organizations, and all relevant health and safety standards.
